“We had an amazing wedding – from the vows (thank you very much), to the toasts, to the food. But the best part of it by far was the dance Ryan choreographed for us and our wedding party.

We had a vision for our dance that included no less than 5 Bollywood songs, 16 wedding party members, and a camel and an alpaca. Ryan took all of those ingredients and seamlessly tied them together into what, without bias, was the greatest wedding dance of all time (thank you very much). He did this in less than 10 weeks.

Not only did the dance turn out wonderfully, but the process of rehearsing with Ryan was so critical to the wedding and our relationship. Ryan had us working together as a couple in a way that we’ve never really communicated before. Learning to dance together could have been a painful process, but Ryan made sure to make it fun, collaborative, and connective. We grew a part of our relationship that we had never really explored before.

Ryan also managed to coordinate across 5 different cites in 5 different states to make sure that our wedding party was comfortable with the choreography before arriving for the wedding week. He took the onus of pre-recording detailed videos that included bite-sized, step-by-step tutorials that even the most inexperienced dancers could follow. Then, he hosted several in-person rehearsals with our giant group in our building’s crowded rec room. He was willing to work with whatever space we had available, and somehow magically turned those spaces into our venue dance floor.

We had countless one-on-one sessions with Ryan to learn our parts as well. He will never say no to extra rehearsal if you need it. And we needed it. Ryan became a semi-permanent fixture in our condo for the 10 weeks leading up to our wedding and we now count him amongst our good friends.

The greatest part about working with Ryan is that you know he’s truly there to help you achieve what you want to achieve. For us, that was a very intense, Bollywood medley with our entire wedding party. But I know Ryan would have dialed up or down to meet our vision and bandwidth. So don’t be intimidated.

We gained so much through this experience. Ryan helped us create the greatest thing we will ever make (pending the birth of our first child in November; revisions to this statement TBD). And he helped us grow our relationship and our friendships while doing it. Thank you so much, Ryan! Our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was without you.
